Its not injectors

So this is my first post, so maybe not the easiest to start off with.

R51 2008 2.5 diesel 116K miles on it. Had issues with cold start, cutting out until warmed up.

New fuel filter fitted.

No fault codes shown when any symptoms arise.
Vehicle always restarts after stalling and never does it when warm. Fuel consumption is pretty good, around 30MPG. Acceleration etc all OK.

Actions;

1.Blanked off EGR Valve = no improvement

2.Changed injectors - Initially OK but after 150 miles has reverted to cutting out when cold.

I'm wondering if injector change didn't actually fix anything and actually whilst working on it, the ECU reset with battery disconnected, which has now reverted to the faulty situation. Making the ECU suspect.

Or what about crank/cam position sensors?

Thoughts please
