V8 MPG?

Postby rangeoflight32 » Fri Jun 03, 2016 8:30 pm

I'm shopping for a 2011 or 2012 pathfinder 4wd and wasn't really looking for a V8 but one popped up in a search I ran and wondering if it would be a good option.

I don't have anything to tow right now but could see getting a travel trailer someday. And just seems good to have more power.

However how much worse is the MPG for V8 vs V6?

A lot of factors can weigh in, but, on average, I'd say you lose about 2 MPG on the combined mileage going with the V8.

Ive got a 2011 V8 Pathy, and pre-mods it was at about 15.5 MPG (60/40 Highway/City). Post mods its running about 14.3 MPG (but oohhhh so worth it!)

I say go with V*. if you get a V8 you will never want to get rid of it.
I am working on an aftermarket dual stage variable intake manifold. just installed a prototype on my v8 pathy. and it looks like it even gives better fuel MPG's. I personally don't care for MPG. but even stock I would get 6,17 mpg on highway if driving with light foot.

here is how my PD90 looks installed.
