Which spark plugs?

Postby not on the rug » Sun Oct 23, 2016 12:32 pm

'07 LE with 101k miles on it. Might as well do the plugs.
I was at advance auto and picked up the Bosch OE Fine Wire Iridium plugs for $7 a piece.
Anybody use these before? [/b]

Just did a little digging on this forum and the Xterra forum and most guys recommend OEM. I'll return these and go with the OEM plugs if that seems to be the consensus

Stick with NGK spark plugs, NGK #6240 laser platinums or #93759 OE laser iridiums. You won't notice much difference in performance between the two NGK plugs. Both are rated at 105,000 miles, but you could probably get 120,000 out of the iridiums, if you wanted to. The laser platinums are a bit less expensive and easier to find.

Installed the plugs on Saturday. Went with the 6240 because NAPA had them in stock.

Yeah, not too many auto part stores stock the OE Laser iridiums. You usually have to special order them or get them online. They also run about $5 more per plug.
