Having couple issues with my 07

Postby PathMaker » Thu Nov 05, 2009 7:29 am

I have an 07 SE with just over 60k
A couple of days ago the DTE was reading 0 when I knew i had at least half a tank then this morning the check engine light came on.
For about 2 monthes I have been hearing a rattling in my exhaust but it never seemed to cause an addiotnal issue and i figured it was not a big deal. So far I havent noticed any other issues but I have no idea what this could be. Any thoughts?

Did you ever have your fuel sending unit replaced? They have a technical bulletin about this. Anyway, the same thing has happened to a number of us. When mine went, it was also giving me fuel readings that were way off, and I was also getting the check engine light. Mine ended up being 2 issues related to the fuel sensing. I'm betting that's what your problem is.

Thank you for your quick response. No I have not had that replaced. What did the fix wind up costing in the end?

The fuel sending unit is a recall item by Nissan, should be zero cost.

The fuel sending unit is NOT a recall campaign item!

We had to have our fuel sending unit replaced. Not cheap. Fortunately we were at the 35,923 mile mark and the warranty covered it. But I think the total cost was over $500 since they have to drain and remove the fuel tank.

No, it's not a recall item. The only recall on the 05's+ have been the crash zone sensor behind the bumper.

1. Next time use the search function.

2. It's not a recall

3. It cost approximately $450+ from the dealership

If your SES light is still on, do a self diagnostic to get the code. I did mine last week, and it turned out to be the fuel level sensor. That thing has been a little off since I've had the truck, but for some reason the SES light just now decided to trigger. BTW, a few days ago, it turned off and I haven't seen it since.

Your "exhaust" raddle wouldn't happen to be at (and only at) 2200rpm would it? If so, its the power valve problem.

i have an 06 with 65000 miles and i have also had my fuel sensor relay replaced. It has since gone out twice since the first time it was replaced about a month ago. I have to take it back in to the local dealer tomorrow to have it once again replaced. Good thing they cover the parts and labor for 12 months. lol Still frustrating.
