When we first got our 07 Pathfinder LE when using the cruise on the highway anytime going down a big hill it would maintain the set speed. You could feel it applying the brakes to maintain that speed. Recently when using the cruise control it hasn't been doing this.
Was just curious what most of you have observed while using the cruise control and going down hills.
And the other night it was snowing here and the roads where quite slippery. I pulled out of a parking lot onto a road where there was a small hill, I had it in auto 4wd mode, gave it alot of gas, the back end started to swing out so I steered into the skid, when caused the truck to spin and do a 180 turn. I didn't feel the brake pedal pulsate and the steering wheel was easy to turn when I was turning into the skid. I didn't notice the slip light come on. The only time I can get the slip light to come on is when I leave it in 2wd mode and gun it on some ice.
I'm starting to wonder if the VDC system is working properly. When I pull away from a red light when its slippery I can feel the front trying to pull to one side. This happens when accel faster than I probably should, but I've been trying to see what this vehicle can do in icy situations so I know how to deal with it in an emergency situation properly.
Maybe some of you guys have played in snow and can let me know your experiences.
