Vibration when stopped

Postby tal10 » Thu Feb 09, 2012 6:02 am

I have an 09 pathfinder. It runs great, but when I am stopped, there is a vibration when the RPM goes under .75. When RPM is at .75 it is smooth. I bought it to dealer, they said it was normal. Anybody have any thoughts??

Is your A/C on when you've noticed this?

Does the rpm stay below 750 very long it just a second or two before it goes back up? I think what you are describing is normal, at least for our pathfinders. I notice my rpms will drop slighly and there will be a slight vibration then rpms will go up and it's smooth again. I just assumed it was the fan clutch or ac compressor engaging and the engine speed stops for a second before it compensates for the added load.

Thanks. It does stay below once it dips. It's really annoying. I am bringing it in on Monday to have them take a look.

They all do this from time to time. My 06 and 2010 both have this issue.
