go 40 more miles and you have 1 gallon remaining.

412 miles on Odo this tank.

Closest I've ever come to really being empty. Gas mileage has been great recently with this tank averaging 20.5mpg and I've been running 75-80mph on my commute whenever possible. These trips are RT 140 miles highway and about 10 miles stop-n-go per day. I wasn't really trying to run it that low but the the station near home was $.30/gallon cheaper than the gas in between. So I pressed on to save $6  Yes I'm a cheap ass....but I knew I could make it. Yes I know it's hard on the pump.

Wow, I wish my ODO would hit 412 on a single tank. I'm lucky to see 300 :(

FWIW, I refilled with 89 octane on the near-empty experience above. I thought I might need to haul a load of people through one of our mines and I usually use 89 higher octane for that since there's so much hill climbing. Ended up skipping the mine tour and just did my usual highway run and got 20.5mpg again over 380 miles. So no change I could tell in mpg, although I did put the hammer down a couple times to get around people and you really notice it there.

I've got a solid .7 mile on MAR1's personal best whoohoooo!!

I wonder what mpg I could get if I drove 65mpg and didn't have quite such aggressive nature about it...but that's not likely to happen. My other commute I do (50 miles of state routes, hilly, curves, short passing zones) I typically average 18.5mpg but if I drive like I have sense (or get stuck in a long line of traffic at 55-60mph....) my average jumps up to around 20mpg. I don't think I'd see that much of a jump on the highway though.

Hey DMRPHY03,

Since your Pathy is in KM, you should see something like 660km for a tank of gas not 300, not sure where the 300 comes in. I am also surprised to see your speedometer in km/h only. Vehicles manufactured for Canada have km/h in large font and mph in small font. I also believe the USA vehicles are the opposite with mph in large font and km/h in small font.

What number does your VIN start with? I wonder if yours was built in Spain, for the European market and not the USA?

Does Nissan manufacturer the Pathfinder in Japan, for other global markets?
