NEED HELP! BLOWN FRONT DIFF

Postby ladam31 » Sun Oct 21, 2012 3:58 am

just blown up my front diff.

we removed the internal gears so it derivable but the whole case has
been destroyed.

i may be able to get it replaced under warranty but i am thinking about installing an auto locker.

are auto lockers available for the r51 that come as the whole case or only as internals?

Only ones I've heard of are just the internals. LOKKA makes a fully mechanical auto locker for the front of the R51:

I've heard there is an air-locker setup available from ARB. TJM Pro Lockers was, at one time, working on an air-locker setup but I don't know if they ever released it.

Why would lockers help this? Lockers on that front aluminum diff would make it more likely to go.

What caused this to happen? And of course pics of the carnage would be nice. :)
