MAGNAFLOW MUFFLER FOR V8 PATHFINDER

Postby dirtygirl660 » Wed Oct 23, 2013 7:02 pm

:D Just got my Magnaflow muffler part number 12278 its 5" by 18". Sounds really good. Had to cut off end resonator . It was way too quiet with that on. :D

you mean 18"? that part number lists 18in legnth, which is what i have. and yeah, the difference between stock and 18in is -awesome-. not too droney, and not -too- loud. just enough to say "yeah, that's a v8 alright..."

So this part is just the muffler? Not a cat-back system?

It is 18" body of muffler and 24" from tip to tip ends. And that part number is for muffler only.

And two 2.25" inlets and a single 3" outlet.

I went with a 2.5" outlet.

Okay, I don't have a V8 but wanted to ask if you have notice any performance gains, with replacing the muffler? Also, did you consider a cat back system and why did you go with just the muffler?

A muffler coupled with the cat-less b-pipes seems to be a pretty big winner on the Titan Forums. People seeing positive gains.

Also, the only cat-back for ours is the Gibson, which I do not think has been tested on V8's, but the V6 it was tested on lost power.

I think the real power lies in the headers of both the V6 and V8. According to Titantalk and my VQ in my Maxima, headers were the single most power adder.

:D I feel a little increase in power. I couldn't find a cat back system for my Pathfinder. You can just get a shop to custom bend you a hole system. You might be able to do duals. I never looked into that I am not sure if there is room for duals. And I think the Path comes from factory with stainless exhaust except for muffler and resonator. So I just did muffler for now.
