Anyone familiar with the R51 having one of these black box type devices?

The law says that all cars manufactured with a device that captures driver data must disclose the presence of such a device in the owner's manual. I've been thinking about getting one of those tiny forward facing dash cams for when I park in the city.

Sounds like the govt is not stopping at listening to our phone calls, but also has to have a bug in our car so they know where/when we drive.

its a big push by insurers so that they can jack up rates by looking at how you actually drive. the progressive snapshot is the same thing but people are willingly allowing their driving habits to be recorded.

Some "Rental Car Companies" have something similar already installed where they can track your speed and charge you a fee for driving excessive speeds, running stoplights aso.
