P0463 but all works

Postby Fookn4x2 » Thu Jan 16, 2014 10:33 am

I am getting the P0463 code which we all know is Fuel Level Sensor Circuit High Voltage. The funny thing is everything works fine. I haven't had any issues with the level sensor and I still don't. So could it be something other than the fuel level sensor? Thanks

P0463 is when excessively high voltage is sent from the fuel level sensor to the ECM. Possible cause include:
-harness or connectors (open or shorted CAN communication line...which would also be accompanied by a "U" code)
-harness or connectors (sensor harness is open or shorted)
-combination meter
-fuel level sensor

Per TSB #NTB07-069D, it states:

IF YOU CONFIRM:

The fuel gauge is erratic, inaccurate, or inoperative.

And/Or

The MIL is "ON" with DTC P0461, P0462, or P0463 stored in Self-Diagnosis.

ACTIONS:

Replace the fuel level sending unit with the one from the Parts Information section of this bulletin.
^ Make sure to use the Clip (Sender Unit Cover) listed in the Parts Information.

Parts:
25060-ZZ00A fuel sender
17342-EA000 packing
17574-ZZ00A clip (sending unit cover)
