:?: does anyone know if this is normal I was driving the car when i had to swerve violently as I did this I noticed a grating noise from around the gearstick area manual drive 2009 diesel 2500cc UK .
I tried it again and the result was the same .
I then turned off esp and no grating noise ?
Is this normal
Cheers

Did the noise come with any change in vehicle speed? I'm from America, so not sure what comes in your Pathfinder's accessory package, but I wouldnt think that ESP would work directly on the transmission but more so on the brakes.

Its hard to say what that noise could be though, perhaps when you were swerving new sounds made it through the trans tunnel due to the torque and weight moving on the frame of the truck? Sorry, kinda just guessing at this point.

See if you can get someone to record it!

cheers for the reply it is an odd one I've got Nissan UK on the case now but after previous experience with them I don't hold out much hope .
Also asked a friend with a pathfinder to try it on his to see if he gets the same noise .
Fingers crossed it does I will let you know.
Thanks

Good luck to you! If you think about it, post your results. I'm curious to know what it was after all
