rear brake bulbs blow whilst towing

has anyone herd of brake lights bulb blowing whilst towing
is this a common problem or not

as in towing you mean a trailer?
and the bulbs on the Pathy or trailer?

Yes what happend was I was filling up at petrol station a man behind said i had a brake bulb out, so i thanked him, He said he had the same pathy at home the tow a caravan and his rear brake bulbs blow alot on the pathy
something to do with the resistance and he said it would help if you use LED bulbs, so as we tow a horse box and more often a trailer I wondered if this is a common problem. I have only had pathy for 6 months n found nothing wrong with it and i think the tow hitch was fitted from new
