2012 Pathfinder SV Jbl speaker swap with wire colors

Postby Kaleobz » Sun Mar 13, 2016 9:43 pm

So I decided to swapped out the factory 6x9's and 6.5's with same size Jbl GTOs. I Had to make a few modifications on the way. I butchered the stock rear speakers to convert to homemade rear mounting brackets and soldered wires (pos/neg terminals on one side) to the built in speaker connectors (mounting and harness adapter in one) in order to use the factory speaker harness connectors coming from the doors. For 6x9's I removed the factory speaker connector (on speaker) and soldered wires to them with Pos/neg terminals going to the new speakers (homemade harness adapters). Then I was able to simply plug in the door speaker harness connectors. I had to cut about 1/4" from each rear door panel speaker grill 'shroud'. Otherwise it would have made contact with the new speaker upon reinstall of the door panel which I didn't like. I still need to replace the factory tweeters before I add a 4 ch. amp to the factory headunit.

Door speaker harness wire color codes 2012 Pathfinder SV:

Front left driver side: +Pos. L/W (blue/white stripe). -Neg. L/R (blue/red).
Front right: +Pos. W/B (white/black). -Neg. L/B (blue/black).
Rear left AND Rear right: +Pos. GR (gray). -Neg. O (orange)
Note: GR (gray) looks a bit greenish gray to my eyes. [/img]
