Motorised folding mirror problem

Postby RobG » Sat Feb 04, 2012 1:14 am

Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows how to crack open a wing mirror without damaging the fcuker? My passenger side mirror stopped folding but the glass can still be adjusted remotely, so I'm thinking wiring must be ok but perhaps the folding motor is stuck or crapped. Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Do you have power folding mirrors? Wish we had those in the states.

Yes I do! So...I guess my trans-atlantic brothers won't be much help then :P

Folding mirrors are quite useful here in the UK. Our parking lot spaces are ridiculously narrow, as are our side streets and country tracks!

Thanks for taking the time to look though ;)

No not yet, it's not the most important of things but i'll take another look at it soon.

Thanks for dropping by and helping to bump this post though! :)

Try to give a push by hand while opening/closing the mirrors.
This way I managed to get them work again. Seems that it gets some dirt in and the gears will stuck if not used often.

Did you check the fuses and relays? It might be on a different circuit from the adjustment.
