auto door locks/alarm

I have a 2008 pathfinder. It has the feature that automatically locks the doors and hobos the horn after a few seconds. Then if someone tries to open a door they will open but set off the alarm. Is there any way to cut all of this off. I just want yo be able to lock my doors when I want to and not have to worry about the kids setting off the alarm everytime they go to the car. Thanks for your help

It sounds like an aftermarket feature, not a Nissan option. Do you have aftermarket remotes or, if you look under the driver's side of the dash, a control unit that looks like it was added on rather than factory installed?

No it has factory nissan keyless remotes. On the info screen it has an option to disable it from what it looks like to me but when you do that it still does it so that's why I'm seeking help.

you lock the doors and then anyone can open it but an alarm will sound ??
are you sure your door is supposed to open from outside if locked?

i have that feature in my 08, but it only activates if the doors opens from INSIDE when its locked. if you have the SE with the screen, it can be disabled in the menu.
