Parking sensors or camera

Which option is more recommended, taking into consideration installation complexity, price and first of all functionality.

I would like to do most of the job myself, excluding installing hardware and physically modifying bumpers.

Model is 2007, LE (diesel), European version.

Appreciate any suggestion.

I went with the camera.... Pretty easy install as long as your deck has the input for it (mine's an aftermarket Pioneer). Just a long wire run and tapping into the reverse lights. I contemplated the same in regards to sensors, but with a little guy wandering around (he's 1 1/2) that I can not see when he's standing within a few feet of the rear of the truck, I wanted to make sure I could see him.
