Removing LE Door Panel

Postby Bandy1080 » Tue Mar 18, 2014 1:00 pm

Need to replace the passenger side mirror. To do so I need to remove the door panel. Anyone have any specific instructions on how to do this on a 2008 LE? Tried searching but I couldn't find anything.

Thanks

It's in the service manual. But the short version is remove the leather arm rest on the panel by prying it up carefully. Then pop out the plastic trim behind and around the door latch. You now have access to the bolts holding the door panel in place.

Remove them, then carefully pry the door panel away at the edges by popping out the plastic clips.

Re-assembly goes much quicker. One note, you may want to put a thin coat of grease along the outer edge of the plastic to keep it from squeaking and creaking on the metal. Same for the arm rest tabs. I've gone so far as to put foam tape under mine. They don't often go back together as tightly as the first time!

Oh, also forgot you'll need to pry up and remove the panel with the window switches. It has a cable connector you'll need to unplug...

There is a TSB on the armest removal. You don't just pry up on it, but push the end of it forward and then pull up on it.
