airbag removal

Postby sdg1963 » Fri May 09, 2014 1:37 am

Anyone have any experience removing the driver side airbag? I just purchased the steering assembly to get cruise control switches working again and will be undertaking this exercise soon.

Any input, suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Disconnect the battery cables and wait at least 3 minutes. Nissan recommends using a 4-6MM blunt tool. There's an access hole on the back side of the steering wheel. Insert the tool and push up towards the center to release the air bag from the steering wheel. Lift up the air bag module and unplug and set, face up, in a safe place.
