removed pinstripe

Postby doctahjones » Tue May 14, 2013 7:31 pm

wasn't hard at all. took maybe 30 minutes? there wasn't a ton of 'goo' leftover, and the adhesive remover i had made it a breeze to get the dirt lines out.

kinda hard to tell with these pics, as the shade from my leafless tree makes a bunch of lines all over anyway...

was very disappointed in just how deep they cut in order to cut the stripes. this is the door seam for the front/rear door. gonna have to try to buff that out....

Looks good, sucks that whoever put the stripe on cut the paint like that and the lines are not even straight!!!

yeah i was surprised that there was no goo. really just 'dirt lines' from all the crud that's built up at the pinstripe seam. hardest part for me was pulling slow and not letting there be alot of 'line' when i was pulling or the thing would snap off and i'd have to re "pick" it to get it going again.

dumb question: did you just pick at it with your fingernail and start pulling?

And then hit it with the goo gone after it was pulled up?

Awesome. I feel like I'm posting on all your old threads. Got the running boards off, pinstripe will be gone tonight and then plasti dip when this snow finally quits.

I'm wondering if the cold is hurting me here because I just tried for 20 min to get one "started" and it could only get little flakes and wasn't able to pull it up at all.
