Factory TPMS - no way to drill out and change battery?

Postby Sayantsi » Tue Apr 02, 2013 2:09 pm

It seems like a big waste to toss out an entire TPMS sensor simply because bad design has the batteries sealed inside them.

Rather than buy a new sensor at $50-90, has anyone looked at the feasibility of replacing the $2 battery?

Can the TPMS be pulled apart at all, drilled into, etc?

I guess where there's a will there's a way! I still have one of my old TPMS sensors. I'll have to play around with it next time I've got some free time.

Since we're on the subject, do any of the aftermarket sensors have replaceable batteries?
