Spare Key

Maybe this isn't the right place to post but my son just bought a 2006 pathfinder and it only came with one key. Local dealer wants $200.00 for spare. Anyone have any experience using a locksmith or a better solution?

I'd shop around, got mine from the dealer for $100.

My local key shop said it'll be like $70. They said that be the key and actually programming cause our vehicles have "chips" in the hey. I did get a copy to just open the doors for around $2.

Price around for sure.

I'm in the same boat. They want $247.
I found an automotive locksmith in the local classifieds that can do it for $60.
He can also upgrade to the newer style flip-style keys. I might do that.

I'm planning on ordering these cheap key blanks just in case I lock myself out. I still have one more spare and the valet (gray key), that I will keep at home.
