I put Hella driving lights on the push bar, and they do a great job of extending the reach. And then I put four more cheopo lights on the roof basket, which give me extra side lighting distance. I plan on replacing the lights on the roof with something more powerful when I replace the fairing -- there's a limit on how much weight I can attach to the current plastic fairing, even with a 1/8 x 1-1/2 strip of aluminum for backing support.
These were
very useful when I was out in the national parks this summer. Driving back from dinner in Jackson one night I came within 5 feet of nailing an elk on the middle of the highway at 65MPH. After that, I used all the lights all the time there wasn't oncoming traffic. My arm kinda got sore keeping my fingers down by the light switches, but at least there were no more near misses.
