Sell your SUV privately in an ad. You'll get more than a trade in.SilverGhost wrote:Tried yesterday to trade in my '06 (with less than 18K on the odo) on a virtually identical '09 PF (except for color). The dealer truly threw everything they had at the deal - promo interest rate/rebate/ignoring the replacement of both bumper covers/heavily discounting their unit/giving me way above trade-in for mine, but it still would have boosted my payments ~$50 a month. I couldn't sleep with their number, so I walked out. Just grousing . . . 'cause I really like what Nissan did to freshen the '09's.
+$50 based on 60 months. However, because I only have 31 months left to pay on mine (I'm not upside-down), the total out-of-pocket difference over 60 months is more than $18K. That actually isn't bad for a 3-year newer truck that lists for $3000 more than mine, just more than this tightwad wants to pay.KEVSTER wrote:50.00 more a month for how many months? this is not alot of money per month. and a decent trade in price, now that is nice. 50.00 more month x 48 months is only 2400.00 or 3,000 for 60 months.
I've sold privately several times, and you're right . . . I'd likely get a higher price for it. In my case, I might (or not) get another two grand. But here we pay 6.25% sales tax only on trade-in difference. This deal had roughly $1000 sales tax in it. With no trade-in, sales tax would be about $2000.Npath wrote:Sell your SUV privately in an ad. You'll get more than a trade in.
No problems at all, but the warranty on my '06 is up in nine months. I love the PF as a great all-around vehicle, but I much prefer the front & rear end look of the 08-09 models. Plus, there are more electronic goodies on the new ones, not to mention a much better looking interior. And black, as in my current PF, is a true bitch to keep clean.me&pathy wrote:the 09 is nice but you have less than 20 thousand miles on yours. I mean why trade it? has it given you to many problems?
