Possible 07 Pathfinder build

Postby popeye » Thu Mar 19, 2009 4:36 pm

What do you guys think of this build?

2007 Pathfinder LE

Mods:
Calmini 5 inch lift with Calmini shocks
PRG 2 inch body lift
Calmini upper contol arms
With some fender trimming, I think I can fit 37x12.5x18 BFG's
ARB locker
Gibson exhaust
KNN air filter
Shrockworks skids and sliders
Staun internal beadlocks

Am I missing anything?

What are you building it for? Sand, rock crawling, mudding, or show?

rock crawling. i'm worried about not being able to re-gear it low enough for crawling though

Do some research on the Gibson exhaust. Matter of fact, do a search on this site about it. Several here have installed the Gibson system and were not happy with the results. I think there were even a couple who had dyno results to show a loss of power instead of a gain.

You need to upgrade the suspension. The Calmini lift is just a diff drop. It will not gain you any suspension clearance and you need better articulation and travel.
Get the PRG extended suspension kit and PRG UCA that is now available for our Pathfinder. Talk to Greg at PRGProducts.com and he'll hook you up. I have the prototype and it rocks (no pun intended).

You will have to regear for that size tire. You have the R200 rear and the R180 front diff. You can get them in 3.69 or 4.11 ratios.
Unfortunately, ARB does not make any lockers for these diffs. However, you can swap the front M205 diff from a Titan or Armada (direct bolt on) and ARB will have a locker for this diff later this year but .... the lowest ratio you can get is a 3.36. If you go with 35" tires, 3.36 gears will probably be okay.
