Line-X

Postby 08OR » Fri Apr 10, 2009 11:17 pm

Any thoughts/experiences w/ Line-X on the body as a form of protection from rocks etc. I live and work in rocky areas and noticed paint chips between the wheels on the lower rocker areas. My concern is both aesthetic and rust prevention. My friend recommended considering Line-x: protects from debris and rust. Anyone had experience w/ this technique beyond the typical bed-liner application? And cost?

thanks

I have it done to my 2008 DODGE MegaCab dually and its awesome, it protects very well and good thing with it is you can have it color matched.

Thanks for the input. Two questions, please: how well does it color match (what color is your truck. My PF is storm grey, and i was thinking of just applying black line-x, only to the lower doors/rockers). And, is it expensive?

My truck was black and it matched 10000% couldnt tell the difference from the paint other than the rough texture, all my accesories for my truck came $19 G's so I am not sure what it cost but im thinking the most $600-700...[/img]

Pics and prices, please. I'd like to do my rockrails and rear interior side pieces, so I'm curious to see how well it works on plastic.

Okay...Pics as promised. I am really happy with the results...Looks like it should have come from factory for the 4x4. I understand that the limited with leather and wood trim, etc. may look better with painted bumpers, but I just could not seem to keep the paint on mine!

I have 3M protective film on the front end, so I probably wont do the front. But, I am considering a shrock bumper which I will line-x if I get it. So at least the front and rear will look balanced.

Cost: $80.00 at my local line-x franchise. It took about 15 minutes to put the bumper back on....it never ceases to amaze me with the clips and pins and brackets the auto companies come up with to hold these things together...
