GPS mounting

Postby Rheller » Sat Nov 07, 2009 8:32 am

The wife wants a GPS for her 08 SE with the screen. I am trying to get an idea of how and where to mount it. It will most likely be a garmin unit. I refuse to put it on top of the dash or on the windshield. Anyone got any photos or ideas of better spots to mount it?

proclip seems to be the best bet. The factory addon is not for models with screens so that link is useless to me.

I made a custom bracket and ended up mounting it here... Now I just need to hardwire it and I am done!

Being monuted this low, any issues with looking down at it? Especially in steady traffic and during split-second decision situations, where quick, often glances are required?

7 months and no accidents...I rarely look at the screen, I punch in the address I am going and listen for the directions. Not much different than looking at the radio screen if you ask me. To each there own..I happen to love it mounted here plus its very discreet so theives wont see it as easily. I can understand it being a distraction if your staring at it, but that just isnt the case for me
