Tires w OWL?

Postby Ninjaman » Sun Dec 27, 2009 10:53 am

I need a set of tires, like what I read about the BFG Long Trail Tours, and I liked the look of the tires. But they don't come in the 265/65/17 size. The standard Long Trails do, but not the tours. All I need is a highway tire and I want an OWL. Ideas?

I just got a set of Yokohama Geolandar AT-S LT165/70 R17. Awesome tires with good looks. Rated second in current consumer reports.

165 kinda narrow isn't it? Good in the snow I guess!

I like OWL tires too. I put on a set of new and different tires last month after having two sets of the BFG's. I liked the BFG's but it was time for something different.

I put the BFGs on a couple days ago. I like them, not a huge difference in ride quality considering that the generals had 70k on them, but the ride is better. The big difference to me is driving the thing, as in direction changes. The stock tires seemed to have a lot of sidewall flex and it really exagerated the top-heavy feel and contributed to some of the body roll experienced during cornering. The BFGs are WAY better in this area, the Pathy drives MUCH better.
