08 pathy drive line slop.

Postby titanmike » Wed Feb 24, 2010 10:39 am

When you are cruising at around 45 and let off the gas and push it again there is an annoying bump in the drive line. Anyone else have this and found out a way to fix it?

any play in your driveshafts? Perhaps a seized u-joint, though this would normally exhibit a vibration.

Could it be coming from your tranny? You didn't mention if you have 4WD either, if you do, does it happen in 2wd and 4wd?

I had a similar noise, turned out to be a front U-Joint. I was under 60K miles and it was covered by the powertrain warranty

Mine does it also... I was told the overdrive lock up is set at around 45mph and that it is the tranny switching back to 5th from overdrive or vice versa... Mine only does it around that speed, anything faster and I have no problems. I think it is an 08 and newer problem as my 06 and sisters 05 didn't do it.

Its an 08 2wd. I has done it since the day it was new. I think I have heard that its "normal" per nissan's standards. I was just curious if anyone has found some way to fix it. If you are coasting at 45 and push the gas it does it but if you ease into the gas very easy its not really noticeable.

Mine is the worst cruising at 40-45 and letting off the gas for a second and then giving it gas again right away. It feels like it is hung up searching between two gears. I think the only way to fix it would be to have the tranny lock up at a higher speed. I know they lowered the overdrive speed for better mpg.

dealer - i can give you the ECM # if you need, but it's an easy fix - and can't be confused with any other program - as a side benefit, you may also avoid premature detection of another couple of DTC's.

tell, them you have a thump/bump and the stated speed at about 1200 rpm. If they give you any BS, you can PM me.

I'll call the dealer and see what they say. And there isn't the o/d off button on the 08's. Its my wifes car but When I drive it around town I put it in 4th.
