How can I disable no-slip function on 05 PF

Postby leebee » Sat Mar 13, 2010 1:19 am

The 2005 Pathfinder has a no-slip feature that basically shuts down the drive line when the rear wheels sense a slippage. I hate it!! When I accelerate to pull onto a street or road and there is a bit of gravel or sand, I lose power at the time I need it the most-- to pull into traffic!!-- I realize that this is a safety feature for controlled movement on the ice and snow, but I live in Florida and I want to control my acceleration without help from the vehicle computer. Can anyone tell me, if its possible, how to disable this no-slip function? Thank you.

u can turn the vdc off but if you get it side ways to the point of counter steering it the vdc and abls will still kick in, you cant ever really turn it off. I guess you could pull the fuse for it but then you wont have abs and the gauge cluster will light up like a x mas tree.

i have tried this but i held it for 10 seconds, and it would kick in but only when i had the truck completely side ways. i hold it for 6 and see what happens.

mines SE1 no VDC - i hate all that electronic crap for offroading.

im in bahrain now with a friend driving an LE2 with seat heaters and VDC.
press and hold for 6 seconds (or more) and it wont kick back in until u press again.

question - can it be reprogrammed at the dealers ?

and coom dude, we gotta go dune bashing when im back in dubai!

So the next question is -- Where is this VDC switch located in the vehicle?
