Airbag question

My 08 is supposed to have side airbags, reading the other thread got me to thinking... I'm pretty sure my 06 had the srs airbag writing in the plastic square on the pillar. My 08 has the plastic square but no writing? Any 08 owners have the writing?

If the Plastic cover has no writing on it then you do not have airbags.

The side airbag package was an option for '08. If you have the option, you should have the SRS writing on the plastic square. I believe you will also find the Airbag tag on the front seats as they are part of the package too.

Yeah, now I'm kinda pissed. Just got done looking at my window sticker and all it says is Nissan Advanced Air Bag System. When talking to the dealer before purchase he told me all airbags were standard just like my 06... Come to find out there only standard on the LE!

Will go talk to the dealer this week and see what happens (I'll be shit out of luck I'm sure). Damn you spend $2000 for the Premium Package $2000 for Leather and cant even get standard airbags in a 36k truck!!! Even my 22k Mazda came standard with 8 airbags!

I believe all airbags standard on all trim levels only happened in '09, so to say that it is the same as '06 might be true. I can't imagine the dealer is going to do anything for you, but I guess you can try.

In my experience if you do a couple hours of research before you go to the dealer, you will know more than most the salesman. Many of them seem to care little about the vehicles they are selling and make up all kinds of nonsense. The guy who I worked with told me that the convex shape of the door panels would prevent the glass from entering the cabin during a collision .

Let me clarify. My 06 had the airbag package option... When I traded on my 08 the sales person informed me I would have the same package in the 08 and said it was standard...

The 08 LE did come standard with 6 airbags.

Correct. From Nissan's website:

- Driver and front-passenger seat-mounted side-impact supplemental air bags
- Roof-mounted curtain supplemental air bags for side-impact and rollover head protection for all three rows of outboard occupants
