2005 running boards coming off

Postby mtbpath » Tue Mar 16, 2010 11:29 pm

for those with running boards issues, I have an 05 and I notice that its started to come off. it has not completely come off yet, but probably after driving highway the wind gets under and I can it lift at the edges.

I can do it myself, if I do, what product is recommended to make sure it will stay on strong. I'm thinking something along the line of 3M adhesive spray or double sided adhesive tape.
or
take it back to dealer and let them fix it. it is still under warranty.
I am afraid dealer will not do a good job and I will encounter this again.
any advice.
thanks!!

not sure how that would still be covered under factory warranty, but if it is, take it back - there is a later redesign.

Mine started to come off as well, some double sided 3m tape seemed to fix that problem...they are just held on that way from the factory as it is.

the later ones had nipples on the tread that pass through the running board, instead of just the tape.
