Improving call quality on 2008 Pathfinder LE bluetooth

Postby Bandy1080 » Mon Apr 05, 2010 6:01 am

I have a 2008 Pathfinder LE with the built-in bluetooth. I installed my Blackberry on the system yesterday and it connect flawlessly. It even sounds great in the car. The only problem that when I call people, they tell me it sounds like I am in a wind tunnel.

Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Thanks.

Brian

same problem...
I'm guessing the road noise...

I've been meaning to look into a better microphone, or possible see what it would take to better insulate the cabin.

I think the problem is Nissan's Bluetooth just plain sucks. My dad's 06' M35 has the same problem and there are numerous complaints on the Nissan / Infiniti boards. I know a user on one of the Infiniti boards posted a while back that Nissan experimented with a fix on his vehicle and it worked great. How long it takes to get that fix into production I don't know. I wouldn't expect a retro active fix for it either.

It definitely is road noise or a crappy microphone. I left myself a voicemail when going 20mph and one when I was on the highway. The one from the highway was absolutely horrible. My voice was clear but there was so much background noise.

That is quite frustrating as I am frequently driving on the highway.
