When in doubt, check the service manual.... I use the one on the front page of the forum:

Page FSU-20 states that wheel alignment should be done 'unladen' which is defined as Fuel, Radiator Coolant, and Engine Oil are full, and the spare tire, hand jack and floor mats are in their designated positions.

Page FSU-21 has the spec for unladen wheel arch height. For my SE 4x4 with 265/75/R16, the height should be 34.96" in front and 35.35" in the rear. Going to measure it when I get back from my business trip on Friday!

For some it matters more than others... I'm 6' 2" 280lbs, so I would imagine that would make a big difference!

Im not far from ya at 6'2, 240 lbs. I come from a racing background where every pound matters. I never set my car up without my butt in the drivers seat. Made for a lot of climbing in and out when doing it yourself. By the way, did you know that 16,000 1/4" holes will take 1 lb of weight out of sheet metal? LOL Yes Im picky with my vehicles
