---- DTE

Postby Npath » Tue Aug 03, 2010 9:18 pm

I was driving on a highway and looked down at the speedo. I noticed "----" above DTE.

I pressed the switch several times rotating through trip odometer, time and back to DTE. It finally read what it should have been approximately.

Anyone can tell me what this means? It only did this once and hasn't come back.

I do recall someone mentioning a similar issue but can't remember which forum it was on as I am a member on 3 of them.

I know on mine, I see that all the time but its due to my fuel is pretty all gone, it will go from 12 DTE than dashes but I still drive like 50 more miles.

The thing is, the fuel tank was more than 3/4 tank full.

Have you had your fuel sending unit replaced yet?

when you noticed "----" above DTE, was your fuel guage reading 3/4 tank at the very same time?

Yeah, pretty much. Just today, it read "0"! and it was 3/4 tank full. Again, went through the rotation and went back to DTE and read what it should have been.

To answer another question, no, haven't had the fuel sending unit changed yet.

For some reason, I get the feeling it will be the tranny cooler next.
