New Pathfinder or 4runner

Postby gtvapsamtik » Thu Sep 16, 2010 5:31 pm

I ve been window shopping for new SUV . And so far I like both 2010 PATHFINDER SE 4x4 V6 and 4RUNNER 4x4 V6. I am in a military and need something that can tow heavy military gear. Which one have more durable engine. I know Toyota have lot of rust issues with their vehicles.

How is Nissan Compared to 4runner. I am leaning towards PATHFINDER v6. Just need last openion from everyone on this forums. I want something that will stay with me for long to come and is very durable. I will pick one of em up tomorrow morning.

Well, if its me and money was not an issue, I would get the 4runner trail edition just cause it has the rear diff lockers, but from reading the specs, they seem pretty close, pathy has more torque and can tow up to 6000lbs that's a 1000lbs more than 4runner, but if you want to stay on budget than I would recommend the Pathy.

4Runner drives better and is smoother overall IMHO. But it's bigger than what I really wanted and a bit sluggish compared to the previous gen and the Pathfinder. Probably because it's bigger/heavier but has same enging/power as before... :? Pathfinder needs airlift in the back to keep it from sagging when hauling/towing but it does a great job. I just towed a 3,000# trailer and it was relatively effortless.

Pathfinder has great power and economy. I had 4 adult pax on board the other day heading to lunch and a co-worker in a Durango tried to drag-race us. The one guy has a Hemi Ram and after we smoked the Durango he asked if this was a V8...nope. And my trip computer was still reading 19.5 overall.
