Driver seat to high, mods?

Postby otter712 » Mon Sep 20, 2010 9:08 am

Loving my 2006 pathfinder SE. Installed 275-60-18 Yokohama AT-S on LE 18 inch rims and drives great, looks great, no issues whatsoever.

The only complaint I have so far is the high seating position even with driver seat lowered all the way. Center armrest is to low to comfortable lean on in relation to the already excessive high seat as well.

Is there anything available to lower the driver seat another .5 to 1 inch? IMO It would make the overall seating position sooo much better. Aftermarket comfy drop-in seat? or modified structure on which the seat mounts?

Thanks

i don't think anyone with a pathy on here did that mod. your best bet will be to find a good welder/fabricator to either custom make a seat track or modify the existing one. i saw a 2004 accord that had the seat track modified because the customer was super tall and the seat did not go back far enough. so he had someone modify the track.

I'm interested as well. My vision is basically blocked by the shading at the top of the windshield. Makes the mediocre headlights even worse when you're looking through that at night!

I wish the drivers seat in my 05 PF was a little bit lower, but to compensate for it I lean it back a little. One of the problems is that my PF has the biggest freaking rear view mirror I've ever seen. My rear view mirror has the garage opener/temp gauge/direction indicator thingy built in and that combined with my height (6'3") makes it really annoying to see out the front window. details...details...

Im 6'5 280lbs. I lean the seat back a little farther then I usually would and have no problems seeing out the windshield. I also have the same mirror that shows the temp etc.. in it.

I'm 6'1" but relatively tall in the torso. I have the seatback reclined further than I normally would. The top of the seatback is about 3" behind the B pillar. I look straight through the bottom of the tint stripe at the top of the windshield. Really cuts vision at night.
