Don't you guys have front license plates? I have an 2007 and the plate covers a good part of the area where the 2 center lights would go.

I guess I could just mount 2 vs. 4 lights

Not here in AZ, its not law.

I plan on making a low profile plate holder in the future to lower this unfortunate mandatory placement.

I have the front plate on mine, but am only going to install 2 lights. I looked it up a number of years ago for Utah & I remember that the front plate had to be there. There are tons of cars/trucks driving around without them though, so it is probably one of those secondary laws that people get cited for when getting pulled over for something else. If I need more than 2, I'll mount them behind the grill.

Good stuff, fangars. I installed 2 Hella FF75 lights over the course of the last couple of weekends. It took a while because I had to install the HID bulbs & silicone the things a few times to make them virtually weatherproof. I installed the OTTRAW switch next to the adjustable foot pedal switch (left most panel near the door). I tried tapping one of the accessory light feeds from one of the other switches (the illumination light for the switch itself), but it must have been too weak of a voltage (~1 volt) for the switch to work. So, I tapped one of the 12 volt accessory lines and used that for illumination and also to feed the relay for the lights. The switch itself fits in the opening great, although it is a tad overgrown compared to the other stock switches. I wasn't holding my breath with the DDM kit I installed since the box everything came in was straight from China & totally thrashed. The damned ballasts & all the other crap involved with the HID lighting is really filling up space quick. I'm not sure where I'm going to put everything once I do my high beams. I'll post a pic or 2 when I get a chance.

Not sure if these are out of y'all's price range, but I'm getting a pair as soon as I get the spare change. My friend has them on his F-150 and they're the BRIGHTEST lights I've ever seen. They run on half the wattage as your stock turn signal and make more light than ANY halogen or HID. Their site sells a set for $199.99 and the lens covers for $9.99 a piece, but he found his at 4wheelparts for $189 including lenses.

$10.99 each (ripoff) from Amazon.com.

I've had them in my wishlist for quite a few months and noticed their inventory kept going up and down, much lock the stock market the last few days.

Looks like the 2008 models I see have this horizontal piece in the bumper mouth, if you have that this product is probably not going to work.

Here is the hardware laid out.
Image
The washers always go between the bracket and the strap to minimize the stess on the plastic of the bumper material.
Image
If you were installing the bracket on an SE style bumper (chrome 2 piece also on the NOR's) this is how the bracket would look if you were looking down on it.
The U-straps on the down face, the straight straps on the up face.
Image
If you were looking up.

This is the bracket part that fits both the 2nd Gen Frontiers and the 2.5 Gen Xterras.
The center slot is for the Xterra as are the holes closest to the leading edge.
The leading edge being that with the arc.

power supply and wire routing?

Postby cgray » Mon Jan 16, 2012 3:51 pm

I am trying to install some aux lights on my pathfinder very similar to what has been done here already. I have the lights and switch ready to go. What did you use for power supply to the switch? any suggestions on how to run the relay wire through the firewall?
