Stall because of fuel sending unit?

Postby jklaus » Wed Dec 08, 2010 10:26 am

A slightly different topic on the fuel sending unit.

I have an '05 with 80k on it and have had issues with the fuel sending unit not working for the last 20k. Didnt have the time so I just used odometer to check mileage to fill.

New problem now though, it now stalls, so I limped it home to look at it.

Does anyone know if the fuel sending unit will eventually get worse to the point causing a stalling failure. I know sometimes in the past I did have a feeling of stumbling or loss of power.

When I get the codes checked at the dealer the only code was the sending unit.

Cheers. Jeff

I'm pretty sure the FSU only causes a stall when you run out of gas. For instance it tells you 1/4 when there is actually none.

no codes.... probably the infamous IPDM. You need to replace your ecm relay in it.
