accelerator pedal not responding

Hi, i'm brand new here and have just found this amazing forum and would like to test it out! I have a 2006 nissan pathfinder and the other morning it stalled on my wife on her way to work (just went from 50 mph to idle) and had no response to the gas pedal.She stopped on the side of the road service engine light came on then all the sudden started working again! Nissan said it coded out to be the APP sensor.Has any one else had this issue? Next question is if i replace this myself (the whole peddal assy)do i have to do that position learning thing after the install or plug it in and forget it? If it requires the throttle learning sequence how is it done?
