Taking healights out???help

Postby novaman » Wed May 04, 2011 6:49 pm

Hey guys i was trying to get my headlights out and im kind of stuck......ok i see the two screws on top, got those now i took the grill out and i got that botton screw ok, now there is a tricky one on the inside like in the fender well. Is there a easy way to get to it or do it the hard way?? and what size is that bolt in there anyways???same as the others i hope?

Not an easy way really. Really need to remove the front bumper as well. Once you get that back screw out you'll discover it's very tough to get out without at least loosening bumper.

That sucks. Lots of cars are going that way. I used to have a mazda 6, V6 that to change the headlight bulb it said in the owners manual to take it to the dealer. The dealer was instructed to remove the front bumper. BULL****. That's just crazy.

(Sorry to hijack) - for those of you who did this for HIDs, did you have projectors retrofitted into the halogen housings or did you buy projector housings somewhere? If retrofitted, which company did you use (or did you do it yourself, and how hard was it?); if you purchased them, from where?

I have not put HIDs in my pathfinder yet, but I have two sets in my 99 Jeep from DDM tuning and they work great. I plan to use them again for the pathfinder.

I'm doing a HID retrofit right now. I bought everything (shrouds, ballasts, projectors, etc.) from theretrofitsource.com. Also, HIDplanet.com is a good forum for HID installations. Good luck!

The least expensive kit is $315. That's some serious money

Yeah, it isn't cheap! That's why I've been working on it for the past couple months. I'm taking my time and making sure I do it right!

You should take lots of pictures and do a write-up/how to. I think it would be very helpful to alot of people on this forum.
