Proper fan clutch operation

Postby martyf250 » Tue Jul 12, 2011 12:32 pm

I had an aftermarket fan clutch installed after the OEM failed at 65,000miles. I only have a few thousand miles on it and ever simnce the weather got warm it kicks on during normal driving an is annoyingly loud. any idea if it is faulty or should go back to the garage where i got it?

Aftermarket fan clutches will kick on sooner then the factory one, it is additional cooling which is good, but at the cost of gas mileage. . . if i were you i would put on an OEM.

I agree, for the $20-40 premium, OE is the way to go.

I literally just finished installing a new one less than an hour ago... wish I knew aftermarket kicks in sooner than OEM.

Eh, whatever. I got it for 68 bucks shipped.
