It can be done. You need a speedo cluster from a canadian vehicle.

I did this on my 98 civic, bought a US Cluster with a tachometer and dropped it into my dash. Worked like a charm. Later I changed the speedo gauge out with my old one. Once again, dropped in, no issues.

Hmmm sounds like it may cost a little $$$ and time to do all that. I just wasn't sure if there was a simple button to change between USA and Canada. I know almost all rental vehicles in the states have this option.

Well I know my 05 doesn't have this, what year do have? Anyone with newer models that can chime in on this?

Tech - is this a setting in the cluster firmware?

I have an 08. I'll take a look on my break and see if I can change the overall settings from Miles to Km.

I have an 07 and it is a dual speedo, KPH outer, MPH inner. That is good enough for the purpose of importing, you do not need a KPH speedo. I drive a lot in the US and don't find the inverse hard to read, I do however have my TomTom set so the speed is shown so I probably look at that more than the speedo.
I agree with you on the switch to change over, it is funny how you get it on low cost rentals and then when you get an upgrade it doesn't have that function.

Well I too have the speedo with MPH big and KPH small. I've search though all the settings and nothing will allow me to change any kind of calculations from MPH to KPH. Sorry.
