Driving lamp alternative

Postby Gray » Fri Mar 07, 2008 12:47 pm

Here's some info on what could be an alternative to halogen/HID driving lamps; LED aircraft aviation landing lights which depending how they are set up could give excellent peripheral lighting to help keep wildlife out of the radiator;

Whelen has a few aviation LED landing light solutions in their catalog on pg 27;

Another LED aircraft landing light that is just coming available is the AveoBeam, but not much info yet;

This from the VansAirforce site might be of use to any who are interested in looking at Aeroled's LED aircraft landing lights for offroad or auxilary lighting as the thread was started by AeroLed's principal;

I've been in contact with Dean Wilkinson over at AeroLED's who wrote that their company is very close to a super bright high lumen output PAR36 round style, about a 4.25" diameter aircraft grade LED lamp which would also work as fog lights on a truck bumper for poor weather lighting conditions. What I like about aircraft gear is that it's checked out everyway from Sunday as those fly guys can't afford screw ups. Interestingly the current AeroLED aircraft lamps provided are about the same price as high end LED flashlights.
