At 59.5K Miles...what to check before my warranty expires?

Subject says it all, my power-train warranty is about to go kaput... U and CV joints maybe? Wheel bearings?

I would check the transfer case and make sure it works smoothly if you haven't used it in awhile.

If you have no OBD codes, and all is going well, maybe just go through the TSBs and make sure that none of them apply to you. Not sure what is on the V8, but if it was a V6 it'd be Fuel Tank Vent Valve, Timing chain, fuel level sender to name a few. Would be a shame to have one of these issues show up, and be just past warranty.

Nope, no codes since my fuel level sender died and was replaced under warranty a few months ago. She's running perfectly, just want to do a little CYA before my warranty expires...

And without any codes, you can't get them to look at the other achilles heel of our trucks. Those pesky catalytic converters, which I seem to recall you experienced on your last truck.

Fortunately, these are covered by a longer, EPA-mandated warranty.

I would take a look at the drivetrain and see if there are any signs of leaks.

take it to the dealership and tell them you want to sell it to them to buy a 2012 model.

they will inspect every last nut and bolt to try to lower its buyback price. they'll give you a list of items that need replacement.

thank them heartfully, and go to the warranty repair section with the same list.

when i got my front, rear and xfer case fluids changed at a 4x4 shop, the tech said that that i had a small leak on the rear side of the front diff and to keep an eye on it. that was like 10k miles ago and i've seen nothing since (or before actually, so i'm not sure if maybe it was just some water or something?).

i figure i have the 100k ext warranty through nissan (not a 3rd party) so i'm not -too- worried.

although i'm already at 62k mi so i don't have THAT much longer!

just hit 59k or so and had to have the fuel gauge sensor changed.
