Are there any other forms of data collection being performed to conduct this research, other then data submitted from "owners"?

Just owners. No need for the quotes, though--the difficulty is in getting people to participate, not keeping people from participating with vehicles they don't actually own.

The May results could include the 2005 and 2008, but it's going to be tight. A few more participants for each year would be very helpful. We'd also like to get the other years into the survey.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

The 2005 and 2008 are just over the minimum, and the 2006 and 2007 are just short of it. So more participants would be helpful for all years.

Getting close to the next results update, so we'll know in about a month whether the 2005+ Pathfinder will make it in. I hope so, but it's going to be tight.

You're certainly welcome. Thanks for signing up to help.

Those results soon. With additional participants, we could cover all model years.

We have updated results for the Pathfinder to include owner experiences through June 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2008: 65, about average

2005: 189, much worse than average

In both cases the sample sizes are small. The 2005 figure would likely be lower, but still worse than average, with more participants.

A big thanks to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in November and February, hopefully based on a larger number of responses.

Updated partial results for the 2005 and 2008 next month. Additional participants remain needed to provide full results for all model years.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I always want, and need, more cars. We still don't have enough participating 2005s for a full result, and there's no such thing as an excessive sample size. The larger the sample, the better the information.
