Fuel Pump Question

Postby winndixie21 » Sat Jun 21, 2014 3:51 pm

My fuel pump is the original one that came with the PF and it is 22 years old now and has 183 K on it and I am thinking of going ahead and putting a new one in before it breaks my heart in the middle of BFE, it goes against my
"if it's not broke dont fix it rule"

Normally I would go with the idea that if the oem pump went that long replace it with oem ! But the cost makes me ask the question has anyone used the Bosch or Delphi pumps ?
And if so how are they working out ?

I have used airtex on other projects just to be dissappointed so I am not looking to go with airtex

Thanks

It's rare to see fuel pumps fail on the WD21's so personally, I would leave it alone. That said, I would stick with a genuine Nissan fuel pump if you insist on replacing it. I've seen a lot of problems with aftermarket fuel pumps, especially Airtex. I've used Delphi pumps, which makes the OEM pumps in many GM vehicles, but I've only used them in GM vehicles. I never had any problems with them in GMs.
