welding rear diff. do or dont? also newbie heey

i'd like to start asking general offroad Q;s an i'm starting with welding the rear diff////rear end i'v got an 88 pathy with a 3in body 1.5 tors on 33's with a 9,000lb winch.lookin forward to either welding the rear or locking,now my Q's wat is the best method for offroad?lock or weld ?????

A welded differential keeps both of the back wheels on the car spinning at the same speed, but since the wheel on the outside is typically spinning faster than the inner wheel in a turn or corner, keeping both wheels spinning at the same rate will cause the inner wheel to lose traction and skip, making oversteer easier to accomplish.

I ran a welded diff in a daily for over 10 years and had no issues. Did squeak going around corners though... hehe
