!! newbe with a frustrating engine problem !!

Postby axistwoallied » Mon Nov 28, 2011 5:20 am

hello everyone,

i have a 1991 pathfinder with the vg30e in it

the problem is, it floods out when its under load.
in park it runs great no missfires or anything.
but when i accel it floods out horribly when i press the gas pedal, if i floor it, it will flood out so bad it dies and has trouble restarting..
but if i feather the pedal i can get it up to speed. it seems to directly reflect the load on the engine. im at a loss, and have no idea what to check next.....
any input or ideas would be much appreciated

Iv checked all 5 ecu diag settings, no codes or any malfunctions.
iv replaced: plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, o2 sensor, coolant sensor, timing belt, set timing, checked: tps, vac lines, air leaks ex

please someone help me, im going crazy with this. lol

thanks
TC

had a similar problem on a 1989 nissan prairie. turned out to be the distributor cap and one bad wire. (even though we had replaced them recently)

on normal pressing, its fine, but if u kickdown, it'll choke and almost turn off.
