1995 Pathfinder 4x4 does not work after front wheels removed

1995 Pathfinder 4x4 does not work after front wheels removed

I had the ball joints and fron bushings replaced by a mechanic in Costa Rica. He dis-assembled the front wheels in the process. Afterwards the 4 wheel drive does not work even though the light comes on. Could he have re-assembled somthing wrong.
